Watch: Miguel Layun gives Mexico a 1-0 lead over the USMNT

The Start to the Hex hasn’t gone as well as the USMNT might have hoped and a Mexico goal in the 20th minute meant the American fans would have to wait until next time to see their favorite scoreline.

Miguel Layun of Mexico took the ball off Michael Bradley about 3o yards from goal before firing a low shot that somehow snuck past a few bodies and the outstretched hand of Tim Howard. Mexico has hit the post twice, and have looked in control for much of the first half as the US struggled to deal with the visitors’ wide players.
