Bournemouth and Everton play to a wild 3-3 draw

After watching the first 80 minutes of the Bournemouth/Everton and seeing Everton up 2-0, you probably wouldn’t guess what would happen next. The next 20 minutes would include goals, fans invading the field and very late drama that would result in a 3-3 draw.

Bournemouth got the comeback started in the 80th minute off a corner. Once the ball went to Adam Smith’s foot, he put his toe on the ball and curved it around an almost flat footed Tim Howard to cut it to 2-1.

The equalizer came in the 87th minute as Josh King crossed the ball on the ground to Junior Stanislas. Stanislas went upper 90 with the shot and gave Howard zero chance to block the shot. And in seven minutes, Everton went from a comfortable 2-0 lead to a tense 2-2 game and vulnerable to allow another goal to the momentum riding Cherries.

But even though Everton gave up a two goal lead, they didn’t completely give up the game. With five minutes of stoppage time and late in the 95th minute, Ross Barkley got a very difficult shot off and the ball trickled into the net to give Everton the lead and seemingly the win.

Well Everton had the win until some of the visiting Everton fans started invading the field and therefore extended the game. The referee added a couple more minutes and that proved bad for Everton, who thought they and their fans had the win. Charlie Daniels crossed the ball to Stanislas for the equalizer in the 98th minute to save a hard earned point for Bournemouth.

This will definitely be a game where Everton will feel like they missed out on three points. For Bournemouth, they’ll certainly take the draw and get any point they can to get out of the relegation zone.
