VIDEO: Leicester City goes all out on EPL trophy celebration including legendary singer Andrea Bocelli

At 132 years in the making, Leicester City knew this week that they were going to lift the English Premier League trophy after their final home game against Everton. Knowing that this may not happen again in a very long time, Leicester made sure this would be a celebration to remember.

To start, Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri brought legendary Italian singer Andrea Bocelli to sing and brought him and many of the 32,000 people at the King Power Stadium to tears as well as applause when he took off his jacket to unveil he was wearing a Leicester kit.

A plane even flew over the stadium with the banner, “Had a hunch we’d win. – Richard III” King Richard III’s remains were found underneath a Leicester parking lot after being missing for 530 years. Some felt that once Richard III was properly buried, that was a sign Leicester could win. Hey, why not.

One would think that this plus five days of partying, with a bit of training, would distract Leicester. Yeah, Leicester City took control right away and dominated Everton, winning 3-1. The only mistake they made all day was when Jamie Vardy skied his second penalty kick as he was on a hat trick.

After the final whistle, the team and fans were awaiting the thing they have been looking forward to for all this time. In front of Thai owners Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and son Aiyawatt, the technical staff and 32,000 fans with tens of thousands outside, they saw captain Wes Morgan and Ranieri lift the Premier League trophy together.

Surely this is a story that nobody will forget. Except for Tottenham fans, it seemed like everyone was rooting for the underdogs as they progressed through the season. And I think after a while, even most Tottenham fans will find how great the Leicester story has been. Do feel bad for Tottenham because even if Leicester wasn’t a part of the title race and it was Tottenham in the lead, that would still be one of the best stories in years. Unfortunately, the year that Tottenham got it all together and deserved to win the title, was the year Leicester did something nobody ever expected.
