Video: Wayne Rooney remembers where the net is, scores lovely back heel goal

It hasn’t been the best season for any of Manchester United’s attacking players this season, especially Wayne Rooney. The highest scoring forward in an England shirt has not been able to score much for his Club this year. His last goal for United came back on November 3rd in the Champions League. However, against Swansea, Rooney remembered how clever a player he can be as he scored on a very nice back heel attempt.

United were drawing level with Swansea late in the second half, and were in danger of dropping points again. With 15 minutes remaining Anthony Martial took the ball to the baseline and put in a low cross. The ball was a little behind Rooney, but the experience goal scorer managed to back heel the ball into the top corner. An impressive finish for a player accustomed to scoring big goals. The goal turned out to be the game winner in a 2:1 victory.

The goal puts Wayne Rooney in second place in the all-time Premier League goal scoring chart with 188 goals, one ahead of Andy Cole. Rooney still has a ways to go to catch up with Andy Shearer who has 260 goals.
