Now on to the two Real Madrid stars who can never stay out of the news. The Times claims Manchester United are on high alert over a “disappointed” Gareth Bale who is reportedly reconsidering his future after the club sacked manager Rafa Benitez.

The Telegraph are claiming that Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to leave Real Madrid this summer. Ronaldo was never quite in favor with Rafa Benitez and despite the appointment of Zidane he is still expected to leave.

Cristiano Ronaldo Real Madrid

For pretty much as long as Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo have been playing together at Real Madrid, there have been rumors of one or both of them being unhappy and wanting to leave. Why? Because these are the two names that sell papers. It’s no secret that some of Madrid’s higher ups have preferred building the team around Ronaldo while others have preferred Bale, but not once has either of these players come close to leaving the club. While former manager Rafa Benitez was certainly Team Bale, that doesn’t give the “reports’ that Bale is so unhappy over his firing that he now wants to leave the club any legitimacy whatsoever.

Of the possible destinations for Cristiano Ronaldo should he leave Real Madrid? Paris Saint Germain and Manchester United are the most likely destinations but The Sun claims the winger has his eye on America, with a move to David Beckham’s Miami club when it launches in two years.

No, just no. The first line in that Sun report refers to Beckham as Ronaldo’s “former Manchester United teammate.” The two were never teammates as Ronaldo was brought to Old Trafford as a replacement to Beckham. That should tell you all you need to know about how legitimate this one is.

It could be a homecoming for former Newcastle striker Andy Carroll at St. James Park, but according to The Mirror, rivals Sunderland are set to get into a bidding war with the magpies over the West Ham striker.

A bidding war over Andy Carroll, are we back in 2011? West Ham are keen to offload the striker as manager Slaven Bilic has been told he needs to offload players before he can buy new ones. The only problem is West Ham want £18 million for Carroll. 18 million! The striker has three goals this season! This is a very risky move for two clubs in a relegation battle to spend that much money on a striker who hasn’t been good in five years. If he doesn’t regain the form he showed for Newcastle in the first half of the 2010/11 season (which is doubtful) it could almost certainly spell relegation for the club should they sign him. Nevertheless when you have one club looking to sell and two clubs interested in the player, he’s almost definitely going to be on the move this month.

Standford University and USMNT striker Jordan Morris will turn pro and will begin a training stint with German club Werder Bremen before deciding whether to sign with the Germans or MLS side Seattle Sounders.

This is good news for the USMNT. Morris came up through the Sounders system and the Sounders were ready to offer Morris the largest homegrown contract in MLS history, but the 21 year old is exploring his options in Europe as well. MLS will always be there for Morris and at this point, it’s good to see the 21 year old exploring his European options as well. Giving Europe a crack will not only benefit Morris but the USMNT too.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is in talks with former club Borussia Dortmund over a loan deal with out of favor defender Nevon Subotic according to The Mirror

We touched on this last week. It’s certainly a possibility and makes a lot of sense for both sides.

We’ll see you next week for another roundup on what will undoubtedly be another week filled with juicy rumors.
