Joe Allen celebrates his equalizer for Liverpool against Arsenal.

Video: Joe Allen scores 90th minute equalizer for Liverpool

It’s only January 12th but the bar has already been raised very high for the best Premier League match of 2016. Liverpool and Arsenal squared off at Anfield Wednesday and things started very quickly with Roberto Firmino scoring twice in the opening 20 minutes. Unfortunately for Liverpool both those leads were short lived as Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud equalized for Arsenal shortly after.

Fans were no doubt thinking back to the 4-4 thriller these two teams played in 2009. Olivier Giroud kept the scoring going with another brilliant strike early in the second half. While Liverpool kept their resolve, things started looking bleak as the game wore on and they failed to level the score.

That was until Christian Benteke rose above the rest to flick on a Jordan Henderson ball and Joe Allen was able to run on to the end of it to split the points at Anfield.

*Even if you’re not a Liverpool fan I think we can all agree that there’s nothing better then an extatic Jurgen Klopp celebrating on the touchline.
