WATCH: Dempsey gets 50th career goal after Wood earns PK for USMNT

The United States men’s national team faced a win or go home scenario in its second Group A match against CONCACAF rival Costa Rica.

It took just eight minutes for things to get real interesting, as Bobby Wood earned a clear penalty kick after being shoved from behind by a Costa Rica player.

Up stepped the venerable Clint Dempsey, who calmly slotted home the penalty kick for a 1-0 lead for the USMNT. It also just so happened to be the magic 50th goal of his international career too.
