SAN JOSE, CA – MARCH 06: Quincy Amarikwa #25 of San Jose Earthquakes races for control of the ball with Axel Sjoberg #44 of Colorado Rapids during their MLS Soccer game in the second half at Avaya Stadium on March 6, 2016 in San Jose, California. (Photo by Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images)

WATCH: Quincy Amarikwa scores on a tremendous chip against Portland

I’m sure in between now and the end of the MLS season, we will probably say multiple times should be MLS Goal of the Year. Until then, this Quincy Amarikwa strike is the early favorite for the award.

This goal was just sublime. The chip, the upper 90 goal. Just simply terrific. The goal deserves all the superlatives.
