Gareth Bale gives Real Madrid the lead with a great tight angle goal

Real Madrid took a big step towards the Champions League Final with a first half goal from Gareth Bale against Manchester City. After a lifeless first leg back in Manchester, today’s match has been slightly more dramatic, and Bale’s opener has made the fans in Madrid very happy.

The Welshman lurked on the edge of the box before running onto the end of a Dani Carvajal pass and, from a very tight angle, finished off the bar in the top corner. Keeper Joe Hart had little chance.

At the moment, Real would join their crosstown rivals Atletico Madrid in the final, but it’s a tenuous lead, and City need just one to advance on away goals.
