Luis Suarez Ban Upheld But Can Now Train With Barcelona

The Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld Luis Suarez’s four month suspension for biting Giorgio Chiellini but the suspension has been somewhat relaxed compared to what it used to be. Here are the new terms of Suarez’s suspension.

– Suarez is still suspended until October 26 from playing in any official game. That will be one day after Barcelona is scheduled to play Real Madrid but it could be moved to Sunday due to TV reasons allowing Suarez to play.

– Suarez can play in Barcelona friendlies, train with the team and participate in promotional activities.

– Suarez’s nine game ban from international football remains the same.

Suarez is still getting the book thrown at him by missing at least 11 games even though many people think it should’ve been a longer ban. Now that he’s a Barcelona player and they have other playmakers, it won’t affect Barcelona as much as it would’ve been if Suarez still played for Liverpool. It’s going to be interesting how Suarez can get used to playing first team football during a game if he plays against Real Madrid.
