VIDEO: Merry Christmas from everyone at 32 Flags!

Merry Christmas to you and yours. Hope you are with the ones you love and hope you got everything you wanted on your wish list. We’ll be back tomorrow for Boxing Day coverage and we’re getting ready for our year in review, the upcoming transfer window and speculating on what is going to happen in 2015 in the next week.

We leave you for the day with this advertisement for the UK supermarket chain Sainsbury’s. Yes it’s an ad but it’s a great video chronicling what actually happened during the Christmas Truce of 1914. The Christmas Truce happened 100 years ago today and was when German and British/French soldiers ceased fire all over the Western Front and for one day, exchanged gifts, sang Christmas carols, buried the dead that they couldn’t get to and played soccer in no-mans land. It emphasized that even in wartime, people who were trained to literally kill each other can show some humanity towards one another.

Whether or not you celebrate Christmas in the religious sense, the secular sense, you celebrate another holiday or you don’t celebrate any holiday at all, we can all use this time of the year to show humanity towards one another. It doesn’t matter which situation you fall in, we can all use this time of the year to show some humanity for each other. We’re all human beings and humanity towards everyone is what this holiday means. Merry Christmas, have a happy holiday season and a happy new year.
