If scarves are any indication, Louis van Gaal’s time as Manchester United manager is just about through.

Ahead of United’s game against Chelsea on Monday, a merchandiser outside Old Trafford is selling scarves with the face of potential van Gaal replacement, and recently departed Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho.

Coming off four straight losses, Manchester United currently stands sixth in the Premier League, and van Gaal’s job security has come into serious question. The Telegraph reports that the match against similarly struggling Chelsea could be the manager’s last regardless of the outcome.

Mourinho has managed a number of top clubs, most recently Chelsea, whom he departed “by mutual consent” on December 17 amid the team’s shocking struggles after winning the Premier League last season.

Mourinho has long been linked as a potential Manchester United manager, even before the drama of this season, but we have to think that this might be just a tad bit presumptuous.
