From July 18th to July 21st, Republicans from all over the United States will gather at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio for the 2016 Republican National Convention.
Assuming nothing crazy happens over the next couple weeks — although in today’s political world something crazy probably will happen — the Convention will celebrate and honor Donald Trump as the Republican Candidate for the 2016 United States Presidential Election.
Guess who may be there to help honor Trump? Mike. Tyson.
While LeBron James’ poster sadly won’t be hanging throughout the convention, Tyson is expected to be there to cheer on Trump.
Tyson is already on an impressive list of current and former athletes to speak out in favor of Trump for President. The list includes former NFL player and coach Mike Ditka, retired basketball coach Bobby Knight, golfer John Daly, former NBA star Dennis Rodman, retired MLB outfielder Johnny Damon, Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz, Jets center Nick Mangold, Bills guard Richie Incognito, former Patriots tackle Matt Light, retired linebacker Shawne Merriman, former Yankees outfielder Paul O’Neill, retired UFC fighter Tito Ortiz, retired NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens, Bills head coach Rex Ryan, and so many more.
Outside of the players and coaches listed above, here are five other potential athletes that would be interesting to see support Trump at the RNC.
***It’s important to note that this is just a list and none of these players, coaches, or media personnel have spoken out to publicly support Trump’s candidacy. This list is simply five people that would make the RNC more entertaining that it already could be.***
1. ESPN sportscaster Chris Berman:
Just imagine Berman saying “Coming ALLLLLLLL the way from THE GREAT Queens, New York, the ONE, the ONLY, Donaaaaaaaaldddddd Trrrrrrump! He came all the way back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, from the bottom of the polls at one point to become THE Republican Presidential Candidate for THE President of the United States during the 2016 Elections!”
2. Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady:
Tom Brady has flipped, and flopped, and flipped on Donald Trump’s candidacy in public. If he were to appear, that would pretty much end the discussion of whether Brady supports Trump or not quicker than the deflategate scandal.

3. Cavaliers star LeBron James:
There are a couple reasons why this would be interesting.
- To see how many people at Quicken Loans Arena for the event would know who LeBron, the man who brought an NBA title to the Arena, is.
- To hear what his response in public at the RNC would be to having his poster taken down. 3: To watch LeBron face off against Trump in some one-on-one action.
4. Former Yankees captain Derek Jeter:
It’s safe to assume after a recent interview with President Obama, there’s no way Jeter supports Trump. However, it would be interesting to hear Trump answer these same questions:
5. Cleveland Indians reliever Vince Vaughn:
Who cares that the “Wild Thing” is a fictitious movie character. He played for the baseball team in the city the RNC is being held, has crazy hair like Trump, and the two both say crazy things. Oh and the actor who plays him, Charlie Sheen, recently said he doesn’t like Trump.
