It happens to the best of us. We get in a rush and in the flurry of getting dressed we put on the wrong shirt and fail to realize it until it is too late.

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Trevor Rosenthal had one of those days on Wednesday when he put on the wrong game jersey for an afternoon game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

On Monday, each team in Major League Baseball wore a specially-designed camouflage uniform. The uniforms were only to be worn on Memorial Day but Rosenthal accidentally put that uniform on again Wednesday. He even stood for the national anthem wearing his out-of-place uniform. Points for unintended patriotism.

Rosenthal said he was unaware that he was wearing the wrong jersey until being informed in the dugout via text from the broadcast booth. All’s well that ends well.

The question then becomes just how many of his Cardinals teammates noticed and decided not to tell him? How many teammates let everyone else on the team in on the joke? If anyone has an answer to that mystery question of life, please feel free to enlighten us in the comment section or on Twitter.
