In today’s edition of quality sports blog #content you can’t really find anywhere else, let’s talk about athletes suing Victoria’s Secret. Specifically, Texas Rangers pitcher Cole Hamels suing Victoria’s Secret after not being allowed into their famous Fashion Show last November. It sounds petty, but it appears that Hamels and his wife Heidi have solid ground to sue.

According to the lawsuit recently filed and brought to our attention by Philadelphia Magazine, Hamels paid a U.K. company £49,382 (at the moment of publication, that’s $68,730.36) for three VIP packages which included tickets to the show, and he’s now suing Cornucopia Entertainment for damages “in excess of $50,000”.

Cornucopia told Hamels that he would be provided with a VIP package that included tickets to the show and afterparty, lodging at the Kensington Hotel in London, limousine service, and assorted other beenfits for just under £16,000 per person. Cornucopia also said the show would be held in London, not New York, as per usual. Of course, the show took place in New York anyway.

Despite that rather major and basic mistake, Cornucopia said they’d have three tickets for Hamels and his party at the door in New York. Nothing was left for him and his party, but Hamels was still able to attend the afterparty.

“The Hamels were damaged in, but not limited to, the following ways … the Hamels were deprived of the ability to attend the show in London, England,” says one section of the lawsuit. Cole and Heidi say Cornucopia made multiple misrepresentations about their company and the access it could provide.
