Jayson Werth made his return to the Washington Nationals’ lineup Friday night against the Minnesota Twins.
It’s a good thing he did, because he turned in one of the top defensive highlights of the season by robbing a home run off the bat of Byron Buxton.
Psshh what hamstring injury? pic.twitter.com/1NcrUUBgdw

Werth was forced to come out of a game early on Wednesday night and took a day off on Thursday to rest a hamstring injury. It must have been a mild hamstring injury, because 36-year-old Werth certainly put his legs to the test to get the necessary air to climb the wall and make the snag just into the flower bed in left field.
The rumors of Werth's demise are greatly exaggerated. #nats

Someone send Jayson Werth to jail because he just robbed that home run.

Not content to rest on the home run theft, Werth put together one more solid defensive effort, although far less highlight-Werthy (I’ll show myself out)…
And then Werth makes a running catch to his right in left field to end the frame. He has looked more comfortable in left of late.

Keep earning that paycheck, Jayson.
