Houston Astros slugger George Springer unintentionally added a new item to the Minute Maid Park desert menu.

The Astros outfielder was at the plate against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday, when he launched a foul ball into the stands. While some balls can hit errant cars in parking lots, Springer’s foul ended up landing into a concession stand deep fryer.

Even if Astros hitters tried, it would be nearly impossible to hit the ball in that exact spot again.

Root Sports reporter Julia Morales went up to the stands and found the ball. She reports the ball took a couple bounces and ended up straight in the grease. She said it smelled like grease and still was warm from landing in the vat. Fortunately, nobody was hurt by the splash of grease, although the funnel cake concession stand the ball landed in had to be shut down, as it probably was a health code violation given a dirty baseball landed in a deep fryer.

While baseball stadiums have been more than experimental with food items in the past, showing a willingness to deep fry nearly anything, something tells me fried baseballs won’t make their way on the menu anytime soon.
