Well, this is one heck of a heartbreaking way to lose a game for the Nationals… and especially a rough one for center fielder Michael Taylor.

The Dodgers had a runner on first base trailing the Nats 3-2 with one out in the bottom of the ninth on Wednesday night in Los Angeles, and Yasiel Puig hit a groundball just past a diving Danny Espinosa. The ball rolled out to center field… and then went right under Taylor’s glove, all the way to the wall.

What was inches away from a game-ending double play, turned into a game-winning little league homer — technically a single and error, of course — for Puig.

Here’s video of the unbelievable finish:

Quite a fitting way for the Dodgers to win a game in which they also made the craziest defensive play of the year.
