There has been no love lost in the Oklahoma City Thunder series against the Dallas Mavericks. The series came to a conclusion on Monday night, but it didn’t go without some controversy.

Before the two teams squared off in Game 5, Mark Cuban made a point to say that the Thunder had just one superstar, and referred to Kevin Durant. When he was asked about Russell Westbrook, Cuban said, “I think he’s an All-Star but not a superstar.”

So, after the Thunder finished off the Mavericks Monday night, a game in which Russell Westbrook nearly had a triple-double with 36 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists, Westbrook was asked about Cuban’s comments. Durant stopped Westbrook from answering, and called Cuban an idiot.

There was no hesitation on Durant’s part, either. He showed Westbrook that he would handle the question, and let his thoughts be known loud and clear. The Thunder weren’t done roasting the Mavericks there, though. When asked about Charlie Villanueva, Russell Westbrook did not pull any punches, and said that he can “get ready to sit and watch 82 games like he did this year.”

The Thunder and Mavericks games in the 2016-17 season are going to be must-see television, especially if the two teams continue to trade barbs over the coming days. Oklahoma City will have four days of rest as they wait to face the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, April 30.
