As a kid, one of your biggest dreams is to meet your favorite athlete, no matter what sport. But the superstars of the NBA certainly have a different flair about them, considering their shoes are the ones worn by millions of people around the world.
In New York City on Monday, some kids had their dreams realized when they were able to meet a bunch of NBA stars, including the one and only Kevin Durant, who drew the most shocked and excited reactions from the kids.
Durant went to Rucker Park, and got some shots up. The kids just could not believe it:
It was certainly a moment that they won’t forget for the rest of their lives. Along with Durant, the kids were able to meet Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler, and DeMar DeRozan. But the excitement wasn’t nearly as profound as it was when they met Durant.
Durant is very familiar with Rucker Park. He once dropped 66 points in a game there during a 2011 visit.
As much as Durant is loved in New York City, it doesn’t appear that he will be going to play there on a permanent basis any time soon. Sorry kids.
