Remember the popular mid-90s sitcom Martin, starring Martin Lawrence? The Miami Heat do.

The Heat, consistently one of the NBA’s most fun teams, recreated the show’s theme song in a pretty funny video starring Chris Bosh, Amar’e Stoudemire, Dwyane Wade and others.

Here’s the original theme song, to refresh your memory:

And here’s the Heat’s interpretation:

Props to the Heat, who really captured the essence of that theme sequence, with the funky dances and colorful outfits. All that was missing was a love interest.

The video’s lead man is the always-goofy Bosh, with Stoudemire and Wade providing charisma and Udonis Haslem, Chris Andersen, Josh Richardson and Tyler Johnson also making appearances. That’s nearly half the roster coming together for a clip that must have taken some amount of time, between gathering costume materials and filming various odd dances.

One thing doesn’t quite make sense about this video though: Martin went off the air May 1, 1997. Tyler Johnson at that point was five days away from his fifth birthday, and Josh Richardson had yet to turn four. No way they were true Martin fans. Udonis Haslem, who between the ages of 12 and 16 when Martin was on FOX, we can buy.
