During Wednesday night’s matchup between the Houston Rockets and New Orleans Pelicans, the Rockets crowd offered up some interesting attempts at distracting Pellies players.

Two women in the front row dressed provocatively while wearing outfits resembling the titular character from the Dr. Seuss classic The Cat in the Hat in an attempt to capture the attention of New Orleans free throw shooters and potentially force a miss.

Yesterday was Dr. Seuss’ birthday, so it’s at least appropriate in that regard.

The announcers’ reaction is perfect.

“Oh my goodness.”

“Would that distract you?”

“No.”

The distractors slightly change up their outfit later in the game, trading in the Cat in the Hat features for trench coats, flashing Ryan Anderson when he shot.

That’s some solid effort by the pair, but unfortunately, it may have been for naught, as the Pelicans players hit the free throws shown above. But, it may have worked in non-televised moments, as New Orleans went 9-for-13 from the charity stripe on the night.

The two should walk away happy regardless of the free throw tally, as the Rockets beat the Pelicans 100-95 behind James Harden’s 39 points.
