The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the easiest teams to make fun of in sports, so it should never come as a surprise when somebody decides to take a jab at them.

The X-Files did just that. The episode that aired Monday night featured Mulder and Scully in Philadelphia. This led to the pair talking about the Sixers not being able to find the rim.

The Sixers responded with the following Vine:

The X-Files wasn’t the first show to take a shot at the reeling Sixers. The Simpsons also took a jab at the team back in January, when a Kwik-E-Mart customer buys an overpriced ointment as opposed to wearing a Sixers hat for free.

That’s typically a good measurement of how big your impact is outside of your sport, whether you’re good or bad. In the Sixers’ case, it’s on the bad side, and the cultural impact is growing. It doesn’t look like it will be changing any time soon, either.

The Sixers are 8-44 on the season, and the highlights (or lowlights) will continue to come from off the court recognition such as this.
