By now you know that the Lakers beat the Warriors on Sunday in what might just be the biggest upset in the history of professional basketball.  There’s never been a game in the NBA where a team with that bad of a record beat a team with that good of a record that deep into a season.

How to account for this result that had the same statistical probability of Mark Madsen coming back and winning 7 consecutive MVP trophies?  It’s really easy when you look at the videotape.  Steph Curry became human again.  At least temporarily.

Curry was 6-20 from the field and a paltry 1-10 from downtown with 4 turnovers.  The Warriors as a whole were just 4-30 from 3 point range.

One enterprising YouTube user, “Bootum Bootum” (if that is his or her real name) chronicled Curry’s performance in Los Angeles on Sunday and it is very different than the highlight videos we’re used to seeing from Curry this year.

There aren’t really words in the English language to describe just how mesmerizing Curry’s highlights have been this season.  The time where he drew a standing ovation on the road in Charlotte.  His heroics against Oklahoma City.  His one-man domination of Vine.  Heck, even video games can’t accurately replicate his shooting from deep.

For us mortal human beings, it’s reassuring to have a reminder that Curry is ultimately still one of us.  Barely.
