Game 7 of the NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors was an intense affair — on and off the court apparently. Sadly, one Warriors fan from Southern California suffered a fall from the upper deck near the end of the contest.

Officials aren’t sure yet if the fall from the upper deck was because of a brawl or an accident, although there was a fight in the area where he was seen falling from. On Wednesday, Salvador Bimbo, the fan who fell, was still in critical condition following the incident and was undergoing surgery for the injuries sustained during Game 7.

The fight broke out in his section as the final seconds ticked off the clock. However, Bimbo was an innocent bystander according to reports.

His family told CBS San Francisco that Salvador was caught up in the middle of a fight he did not start and couldn’t avoid, and that a Cavs fan literally tossed him over the railing.

The injuries are massive, as he suffered a fractured skull and three broken ribs.

“He was very, very critical and I was afraid of the next word they were going to tell me,” said his father, Ronnie Bimbo. “He has a long road ahead of him.”

Ronnie Bimbo is looking for anyone that may have caught what happened on video to please turn it over to police. He also is calling for a stop to the type of violence that has escalated at sporting events in the United States in recent years.

“If somebody out there has a video of what happened, they can call Oakland PD,” said Ronnie. “And let’s put a stop to this. At a 49er game, a Warriors game, at a stadium; there should be more concern for people(‘s) safety.”
