If you don’t remember LaQuan McGowan, perhaps this Baylor Bears football highlight will jog your memory.

The 400-pound offensive lineman/tight end is in the midst of pursuing an NFL career and preparing for the draft, but as he told SB Nation recently, he’s already thinking long-term about his career goals.

“I’ve watched it on TV. I’ve thought about, ‘What would be something good or something that I would enjoy doing for a decent, for a long period of time?'” he said. “For big guys in the NFL, they really don’t last that long.”

This isn’t a lifelong dream for McGowan. He started thinking about it recently, and he only watched the WWE occasionally while he was growing up. But he sounds determined to give it a try, with one thing left to figure out.

“I’ve been thinking, and I can’t come up with a nickname,” he said. “But I’ll get one. It’ll be the best nickname you’ve got out there, too.”

The WWE does love big guys and they especially love big guys who are athletic. 400-pound wrestler Mark Henry was an Olympic weightlifter beforehand while the massive Brock Lesner made his mark in “real” wrestling before becoming a pro wrestling star. What McGowan lacks in wrestling experience he certainly makes up for in pure athleticism.

It looks like McGowen will most-likely either go late in the draft or get his NFL shot via free agency. The odds don’t favor guys in that position though there are plenty of players who have built a football career from that. But if it doesn’t work out, the Texas-native has the tools to make it in professional wrestling. Let’s just hope he hooks up with someone creative who can help out on his character name.

“I’ve been thinking, and I can’t come up with a nickname,” he said. “But I’ll get one. It’ll be the best nickname you’ve got out there, too.”
