The college football landscape was rocked on Thursday when it was announced that Baylor fired head coach Art Briles amid cases of sexual assault allegations against his players that allegedly go back as far as 2009. The Pepper Hamilton report reportedly found that the Baylor football program instituted little to no disciplinary punishments towards its players while also covering up their actions.

Recently, Baylor has had three football players arrested on sexual assault charges within the last four years. Former Bears standout Shawn Oakman was one of these players, having been arrested on two occasions. The most recent came in April when Oakman, the school’s all-time sack leader, was charged with sexually assaulting a fellow Baylor student at a nightclub in Waco.

Once it became known that Briles was fired, several current and former players, Oakman among them, took to Twitter to voice their response.

This story is only getting started as more fallout for the coaches, program, and school are sure to come.
