The primary spotlight is shifting from the Mid-Atlantic out to Indiana, so who else to step in to do some stumping than Bobby Knight?

Legendary Indiana head coach Bobby Knight took the podium at a rally for GOP frontrunner Donald Trump Tuesday night, and he made it clear he is lending his support to Trump. Knight said Trump is the most prepared man in history to step in as president of the United States.

Of course, Knight is a certain character and he has his own way of making his points. When addressing how presidential Trump is, Knight confessed to not having any clue what that means. Either way, Knight seems to think very highly of Trump, even suggesting he could go down in history as one of the best president sin the history of the nation.

Trump sent respect back in Knight’s direction once he took the podium, saying “what a winner that is,” as Knight took a step off the stage.

Unless we missed it, it feels like this was a wasted opportunity for Trump and/or Knight to take a swipe at GOP rival Ted Cruz for his recent gaffe in Indiana. A day earlier saw Cruz make a campaign stop in Indiana and he made the ill-fated attempt to draw an analogy from the movie “Hoosiers,” in which he referred to a basketball hoop as a basketball ring. That feels like a perfectly placed alley-oop for Knight to rip. Maybe Knight didn’t hear the comment?
