If you ever wanted to know what Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow smells like, we now have an answer to that, courtesy of Greg McElroy – protein and bicep curls.

McElroy sat down with the folks on Reddit’s college football subreddit for an AMA this afternoon. One admittedly non-serious question posed to the former Alabama quarterback was what Tebow smells liked.

“Tebow smells like Protein and Bicep Curls,” McElroy responded. One Auburn fan chimed in with a follow-up to ask what McElroy smelled like, but he did not respond to that one. Perhaps another time.

McElroy’s AMA session also shed some fun stories from his playing days with the Crimson Tide. Asked about one of his favorite memories, McElroy said running up to his family in the stands at the Rose Bowl following Alabama’s BCS Championship Game victory over Texas to hand his father his game-worn helmet and the game ball. He also explained he told an equipment manager he lost the helmet in the commotion of the celebration, so the secret is out. Of course, McElroy also was asked for a Nick Saban story, and he obliged.

In the spring every year, he would have the leadership group of about 10-12 guys out to his house.

When we went out on the boat, he wore a sweater and khakis.

The only casual aspect of the outfit, was that he took off his loafers, left them on the dock, rolled up the khakis once and went barefoot. Always got a kick out of that every year.

Besides Jake from State Farm, who wears khakis on a boat?

You can check out the full Reddit AMA and get some more insight from McElroy on other topics such as Kirby Smart’s new job with Georgia, the SEC bias discussion and more.
