Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh has ruffled a few feathers in SEC territory after announcing his team would head to Florida for a week of practices during the university’s annual spring break.

The latest to be ruffled by Harbaugh planting his flag in the heart of SEC country? ESPN radio and television personality Paul Finebaum. According to For The Win, Finebaum likened Harbaugh to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

However, before he got to that point, he made sure to take a few swipes at Harbaugh for the season he had in 2015. Finebaum decided to question what exactly has Harbaugh accomplished and his recruiting prowess too.

“It chaps me to no end when coach after coach reacts to Harbaugh. The rest of the country is supposed to be reacting to the SEC, not the other way around. What has Harbaugh done? He had a very good first season. He should’ve beaten Michigan State. Blew it. He should’ve beaten Ohio State, and got run out of the stadium. He did, though, go down, and beat the stuffings out of Florida — the SEC East champion. He is fueled by that.”

Then came the Trump comparison:

“But for whatever reason, the SEC coaches will not learn. They have to keep reacting to this guy. It’s like Rubio and Kasich and Bush all reacting to Donald Trump. That’s what he wants. And the Donald Trump of college football, Jim Harbaugh, wants Greg Sankey and Hugh Freeze and Butch Jones and Gus Malzahn and Bret Bielema to all get their panties in a wad and make it an even a bigger story.”

Nevermind the fact that Bielema, Malzahn and Butch Jones spend much of their offseason finding ways to stay in the national college football headlines by whining about other conferences or other SEC schools. Nor the fact that Harbaugh just landed a top 5 recruiting class and the No. 1 overall player in the country, Rashan Gary.

Finebaum at least acknowledged Harbaugh had a point calling out the SEC for whining in a Twitter response on Wednesday.
