The Tennessee Titans pulled off a blockbuster trade in giving up the No. 1 overall draft pick in the upcoming 2016 NFL Draft. By giving up the No. 1 pick they got plenty of picks and plenty of wiggle room from the Los Angeles Rams, and that wiggle room may be paying off.

With plenty of draft picks sitting available, it appears the Titans’ rookie GM Jon Robinson is ready to make some more deals right back in to the top 10 of the draft.

At least, that is the word of one fellow GM to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora. That GM believes the makings are there for the Titans to make a deal to get any player they really want within the top 10.

“He’s moving back up,” said one executive who all but guaranteed to me recently the Titans would be trading the top pick. “He has the ammo to do it and it’s heading in that direction.”

While Robinson gave up the No. 1 pick, he traded down for the No. 15 pick, two second round picks, a third round pick and a few 2017 draft picks as well. Given that ammunition it isn’t a stretch to think a deal for a specific player would be in the works.

What remains to be seen is just who the Titans would target in a potential move back up the first round of the 2016 NFL draft.

Tennessee could target an offensive tackle to help franchise quarterback Marcus Mariota, or it could target a few defensive playmakers as well.

Given the move down to near halfway through the first round it will be interesting to see what, if any, moves are made by the Titans.

Even more interesting may be what teams that were supposed to follow the Titans are going to do with their draft picks. Some believe the next domino to fall may be the No. 2 overall pick, belonging to the Cleveland Browns.

That’s because La Canfora is being told the Browns aren’t totally sold on quarterback Carson Wentz, and it is likely that the Rams are targeting Jared Goff with the first pick in the draft.

The Browns want Jared Goff, and, I have yet to talk to an executive who does not believe that is who the Rams are taking. While the talk prior to the Rams making that huge move was that they preferred Carson Wentz, no one is buying that they jumped up half a draft round to select a quarterback who played low-level college football and may need to sit for a few years while the Rams try to make a dent in the Los Angeles market.

Given that information, it may be a very interesting first round for a change. The question at hand is just how much of this is real information and how much is just a smokescreen for potential moves behind the scenes.
