during the first half against the Philadelphia Eagles at the Georgia Dome on September 14, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia.

In light of the Philadelphia Eagles acquiring the No. 2 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, where they will surely take one of the top quarterback prospects in Jared Goff or Carson Wentz, Sam Bradford has since requested a trade and refused to participate in team workouts. The Denver Broncos emerged as a destination for the now embattled veteran quarterback and it was thought that they were “in” for the quarterback.

However, those plans for a potential trade now seem to be on hold, as the Eagles don’t seem to be willing to part with Bradford quite so easily.

While it is certainly unknown as to how the Eagles will keep Bradford around with a crowded group of quarterbacks, Denver’s search for another signal caller still continues. With only Mark Sanchez and second-year quarterback Trevor Siemian on the roster, the Broncos are forced to continue exploring options. Thus far, those options include forcing a pay cut from San Francisco 49ers’ Colin Kaepernick in a trade, signing veteran free agent Brian Hoyer, or potentially drafting a quarterback within the first three rounds that could compete for the starting position. With none of these proving viable enough options at the moment, the Broncos are still reeling at the position from the retirement of Peyton Manning and the loss of Brock Osweiler to the Houston Texans.

For now, the search continues for the defending Super Bowl champions.
