Dallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory made the wrong kind of headlines during the NFL Scouting Combine last year when he failed a drug test. Not even one year later, Gregory once again has failed a drug test administered by the NFL. This time it will cost him.

Gregory has been suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season without pay by the NFL for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy. He may participate in offseason and preseason practices and preseason games. Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports Gregory failed four drug tests, including the first failed test at the scouting combine. He had been fined twice for previous violations as well.

Gregory clearly has only himself to blame, but it will be Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones who must answer some questions as well. Jones has certainly never been one to shy away from a player with off-field issues if he feels the player can add something to the team’s chances on the field.
