‘Tis the season for giving. And pranking.

Denver Broncos (and Pro Bowl) linebacker DeMarcus Ware got into the holiday spirit by having some fun with the local Thomas Jefferson High School’s football team recently.

Here’s the setup. The athletic director of Colorado’s Thomas Jefferson High School (Andrew Skari) is in cahoots with Ware. After going on a shopping spree at Sports Authority for some free gear for the kids, the athletics director addresses the team at a team meeting and says he has recruited a new player to join the team the following season. They suit Ware up in a high school uniform and helmet and introduce Marcus Sacksmore (love that name).

You can’t help but love seeing videos like this. Skari says the school has had to make some difficult budget cuts which have hampered the athletics department and football team. This is a growing reality in high schools across the country. Fortunately, Ware was willing to lend a helping hand and give back in a fun way to create some laughs and memories in the holiday season.
