Late last month, Lawrence Taylor said J.J. Watt was one of the best defensive players the NFL has ever seen.

“That J.J. Watt is a bad SOB,” Taylor said Saturday during an appearance at Fiterman Sports Memorabilia at Baybrook Mall. “He’s going to get it a couple of more times.

“I think he’s one of these guys that only comes around once every 20 to 30 years.”

That same defender has now come out and said he isn’t sure how much longer he’ll be playing when speaking with Nick Wright and John Lopez on In The Loop on SportsRadio 610.

“I don’t have any idea what the answer is,” Watt said when asked if he had an ideal age he’d like to play to. “I’m going to continue to play until I feel like I can’t play at that highest level anymore.

“I can tell you right now that I am not going to be one of those guys that is going to play as long as I possibly can. I have no interest in that. I want to go out there, I want to play at an extremely high level, I want to help my team out and I want to love playing the game and I want to have fun playing the game. I know I don’t plan on playing the game as long as I possibly can. It’s not going to be terribly longer but I am going to play as long as I can enjoy it and have fun.”

This whole discussion emerged when Watt was asked what era of the NFL he would most like to play in. Shortly after saying he’d like to play in the 1990’s against Reggie White and Brett Favre, he was asked why he wouldn’t choose the future.

“I don’t want to play in the future,” Watt said. “I’m not going to play very much longer, myself.”

Watt, who has appeared on various magazine covers and even on The League, said when he’s done he wants to be a high school football coach or go back to Hollywood.
