Dan Skuta

Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Dan Skuta was arrested and charged with first degree battery in Orlando in June 19. The news of Skuta’s arrest was first reported Monday.

According to police reports, an officer was first notified of an incident that involved Skuta at around 2:30 a.m. on June 19. Skuta had bloodshot eyes and alcohol on his breath, according to the Orlando Police Department.

The woman said Skuta approached her and flirted with her. She refused to give him her phone number when he asked for it, and they started arguing, OPD said.

The woman told the officer that Skuta pushed her face with an open hand and into a glass window. Deputies said she refused treatment and they didn’t see any injuries.

Skuta was later taken into custody and released on $500 bond early on the morning of June 19.

The Jaguars released a statement Monday about the incident.

Skuta has played in the NFL since joining the Cincinnati Bengals in 2009. He has played for the Bengals, 49ers, and is in his second season with the Jaguars. He had 31 tackles in 13 games in 2015.

Details of a court date of discipline from the league have yet to be released.
