Free agent quarterback Michael Vick might not be ready to hang up his cleats just yet.

Heading into his 15th NFL season on a roller coaster ride of a career, Vick, who went 2-1 last season in place of the injured Ben Roethlisberger for the Pittsburgh Steelers, believes he has another year left in the tank if he receives an offer from a team needing proven depth at quarterback. And given all the moves and teams looking for talent and proven quarterback talent, Vick may be a valuable commodity as a backup.

“I’m 35, about to turn 36,” Vick said at Tyrod Taylor’s youth camp on Saturday, via David Teel of Newport News’s Daily Press. “I’ve got one more dedicated season in my blood, if somebody needs me to come in. But I’m kind of happy where I am right now.”

Vick certainly sounds like he’d be ready and willing to play one more season if teams come calling (and they would be sure to take a look), but seems content to wait by the phone for his next, and likely his last, opportunity as an NFL quarterback. But, let’s note that he isn’t actively pursuing any opportunities with teams either.  Vick showed last season that, given the right opportunity, he is a capable (enough) backup and veteran presence in the league. If not, he seems content to call it a career.
