Stephen Gostkowski is one of the most consistent and successful kickers in recent NFL history, but if and when his career reaches its end, he’s proven he may have a future as a detective… kind of.

Gostkowski reported that his iPad had been stolen after his truck was broken into outside his Wrentham, MA home. A few days later he found six selfies from a stranger on his iCloud account.

Gostkowski then used a “Find my iPad/iPhone” app to help police locate where it may now be located, which took him to a house in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. The iPad was in the suspect’s bedroom inside a bag that had also been stolen from the truck.

The suspect, 19 year old Ralphy Olivero, was arrested and pleaded no contest to receiving stolen property. He was ultimately slapped with one year’s probation. However, at the request of Wrentham Police (possibly at the behest of the Pats kicker), Wrentham District Court issued a summons charging Olivero with larceny. Arraignment for that is scheduled on April 15.

Olivero denied stealing the iPad and said he bought it from a friend for $50 when he was questioned by police in January.
