Former Chicago Bears defensive lineman Bryan Robinson has passed away reports Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune. The 14-year NFL veteran’s body was discovered on Saturday in a Milwaukee motel room. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Robinson spent 14 seasons split between the St. Louis Rams, Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals, and Arizona Cardinals, with six of those seasons spent in Chicago. Robinson debuted with the Rams in 1997 and was a steady contributor throughout his long career, amassing 24 career sacks. He last appeared in the NFL with Arizona, starting all 16 games for the 2010 team.

“We are saddened to hear of the loss of Bryan Robinson,” the Bears said in a statement. “He will be remembered for the determination and work ethic he displayed on the field over his six years in Chicago. The Bears and our fans will always be indebted to him for his game-saving blocked field goal in Green Bay six days after Walter Payton’s passing. Our prayers are with Bryan and his family.”

The Tribune reports autopsy and toxicology reports are still pending. Milwaukee Police said they’re investigating the case a “sudden death” and that there were no signs of obvious trauma and nothing that would suggest Robinson’s death was suspicious.

It’s sad to see another NFL player die at such a young age. Robinson was only 41.
