The Chicago Blackhawks visited a seniors home as a part of their “What’s Your Goal?” program, and the trip was at heartwarming as you’d expect.

Jennifer, who runs the Centennial Activity Center, wrote the Blackhawks in hopes of getting some of her most active seniors to attend a game, but coach Joel Quenneville did much more than that, bringing the Blackhawks experience to them.

The team surprised the seniors, decking out the center in full Chicago gear, making the event like a real Blackhawks game, even bringing along assistant coach Mike Kitchen and Kevin Dineen, play-by-play analyst Pay Foley, organist Frank Pellico, anthem singer Jim Cornelison, and the Hawks ice crew. It’s as close to playing like the Blackhawks do without being at the United Center.

Watch the “old-time hockey” yourself. It’s pretty magical.

It’s actions like this which make sports so great. The Blackhawks organization truly went above and beyond to provide an amazing day for the seniors at the center – and more than accomplished their goal. The moment was special and one I’m sure nobody involved will ever forget.
