Alec Baldwin is coming back to network television, but it’s not in his usual sitcom setting. Baldwin is getting into the game show business.

Deadline reports Baldwin will host the revival of the classic TV game show Match Game on ABC. The show has had multiple iterations on network television, initially premiering in 1962 on NBC.

Baldwin, a multiple Emmy award winner, will be making his first starring network appearance since 30 Rock ended in 2013. Baldwin has done mostly film roles since then except for a failed political talk show Up Late with Alec Baldwin, which only lasted five episodes on MSNBC.

For those unfamiliar with the classic game show, the idea is two contestants face-off as they attempt to match the answers of celebrities in a glorified game of fill-in-the-blank.

According to the report, Baldwin will be commanding one of the highest game-show hosts salaries ever, which he will be donating it all to his wife Hilaria’s foundation.

“I am beyond grateful to ABC and FremantleMedia for the chance to host a summer series of the legendary Match Game,” said Baldwin. “Hilaria and I are thrilled to donate this fee to arts-related charities. And we look forward to having a lot of fun.”

TBS attempted to revive the game show with Andy Daly (Review) as host in 2008 but that version didn’t gain any traction and failed almost immediately.

Considering the amount of money ABC is throwing at the project, hopefully, they can land some entertaining celebrities to compete. How awesome would it be to get Tina Fey and the cast of 30 Rock make an appearance? Make it happen, ABC.
