You might think that after 18 studio albums, 73 singles and hundreds of tracks, Bruce Springsteen would have run out of things to say. You would be wrong.

Springsteen has announced a new autobiography — titled Born to Run, obviously — to be released Sept. 27.

Via USA Today:

The prolific but private singer/songwriter began discreetly working on the book, according to a press release from the publishing company, in 2009, after performing with his E Street Band during halftime of that year’s Super Bowl.

“Writing about yourself is a funny business,” Springsteen notes in the book.  “But in a project like this, the writer has made one promise, to show the reader his mind.  In these pages, I’ve tried to do this.”

Springsteen recounts growing up in Freehold, N.J., and describes his drive to become a musician, the release reports, adding that “he also tells for the first time the story of the personal struggles that inspired his best work, and shows us why the song Born to Run reveals more than we previously realized.”

Springsteen, 66, has not slowed down as he has advanced in age. Though it has been two years since he released an album, he is currently in the midst of a massive international tour currently sweeping through the West Coast. (He also wrote a children’s book, Outlaw Pete, in 2014, maybe warming up for his memoir.)

The book should be quite the event for Springsteen’s famously devoted fans (a group that seems to include every single baseball writer), who might get some information from the book they haven’t gleaned by listening to Springsteen’s endless discography or attending dozens of his concerts.
