Who doesn’t like a good ol’ superhero crossover?

Now that Supergirl has changed hands from CBS to the CW, the network will air four of the biggest comic book properties on television with The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow and Supergirl next season.

We’ve seen plenty of crossovers within the DC television universe, like last season’s Arrow/The Flash crossover which set up Legends, or this season’s Supergirl/The Flash crossover. But now, with Supergirl in the mix, we’re going to get an epic crossover series.

CW chief Mark Pedowitz announced the four shows were all going to crossover, referring to the event as “our biggest ever.”

“Next season, Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and now Supergirl will join forces in our annual crossover event, our biggest ever,” Pedwotiz told Entertainment Weekly at The CW’s upfront presentations.

While The CW’s DC lineup has fallen a bit flat with so many moving pieces this season, getting all the characters in an epic crossover is tantalizing and will make it feel like a big comic event come to life. Realistically, we could get Supergirl and Martian Manhunter interacting with The Flash, the Green Arrow, Rip Hunter, Captain Cold and the White Canary. That sounds incredible. So far, the DC TV universe crossovers have been mostly really strong so it should be fascinating to see how they pull this one off.

The one hitch is that Supergirl isn’t technically in the same universe as the other three shows, but given the earth jumping and time traveling done on The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, they should have no problem integrating the world into the expanded universe.

The news is truly super.
