Fans of shows like The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Fargo, and The Americans are always looking for their next fix. That kind of television show that combines heart-stopping drama with intense action, snappy dialogue and some good old-fashioned violence.

Well if they haven’t discovered it already, they best get on the Peaky Blinders train because Season 3 is about to leave the station and they’re going to want to be aboard when it does.

The trailer for the latest season of the crime drama, which premieres on Netflix on May 31, has been released.

Peaky Blinders follows the Shelby’s, a family/gang in Birmingham, England following World War I. They’re led by the extremely-ambitious and extremely-troubled Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy), who oversees an ever-expanding criminal enterprise that sees the family rise from local thugs to an expanding empire. Tom Hardy, Helen McCrory, and Paul Anderson fill out the cast of ne’er-do-wells trying to make a name for themselves when they’re not just trying to survive.  Notable names such as Sam Neill and Noah Taylor pop up as well, though probably not in future episodes for reasons we won’t get into here.

What helps the show stand out besides the great acting is the fantastic realism of the era, showcased in the set design as well as costumes. But also the soundtrack, which juxtaposes rock anthems from Nick Cave, Arctic Monkeys, Royal Blood, Johnny Cash, with the hardboiled antics of the characters. The show has a particular love for Nick Cave’s Red Right Hand, which serves as the show’s theme and appears in various editions throughout.

Based on the new trailer, it looks like times are good for the Shelby’s but looks can be deceiving. New viewers would be wise to starting binging the first two seasons right now in order to get caught up. It’s the perfect fix for your impending Game of Thrones withdrawal.
