One way Saturday Night Live gets fans through a summer without new shows until the fall is by posting bonus footage online. On Wednesday, SNL released a new clip of Star Wars auditions, outtakes from the original skit that played on the Nov. 21, 2015 episode hosted by Matthew McConaughey.

If you’ve ever wondered what Janelle Monae auditioning for a role in The Force Awakens might look like, this is the sketch for you. (Though you will find Daisy Ridley’s lack of dancing skills disturbing.) But really, the best part is McConaughey angling to play a beloved character from the original trilogy. It would’ve all been in the voice. Take a look:

Can Disney use any of that footage for those Rogue One reshoots? If they want to add some awkward romance, Emma Stone and Javier Bardem could push the movie out to that coveted four-quadrant audience.

Here is the original Star Wars auditions sketch that did make it to air. SNL probably made the right choices, though John Boyega’s Denzel Washington impersonation from the bonus footage is pretty compelling stuff.

But of course, we cannot write a post involving SNL and Star Wars without the original screen test sketch from 1997, featuring Kevin Spacey and his Christopher Walken impersonation auditioning for the part of Han Solo. This is a classic.
