Axl Rose, the lead voice of Guns N’ Roses may soon become the new lead singer of another big name band, AC/DC.

The rumor mill is being fired up by Jason Bailey, a DJ in Atlanta, who says Rose and AC/DC coming together is close to being official.

“This is what I’m being told, Axl was meeting with the AC/DC group, because it’s all but a done deal that Axl will front AC/DC for the 10 remaining shows,” Bailey said this week on his radio show. If the radio ramblings of a radio show host are not enough evidence to support the rumor, well how about the son of a founding member of AC/DC?

Ross Malcolm Young, the son of AC/DC guitarist Malcolm Young and nephew to Angus Young, confirmed the news on Facebook.

When a fan was was critical of the rumored choice of Angus to invite Axl into the band, saying it’d hurt the band’s legacy, Ross claimed the decision had already been made. Ross responded, “He can and he will.” Ross later deleted his post.

Rose, of course, would be replacing Brian Johnson, who is stepping away from AC/DC due to hearing problems at the recommendation of doctors. Continuing to tour would jeopardize Johnson experiencing total loss of hearing.

So this appears to be happening, causing loyal AC/DC fans and dedicated Guns N’ Roses fans to have some awkward feelings. Is this a good thing for rock, or is this a combination that is more twisted than we can imagine? Is this like combining Coke and Pepsi? Or are we getting ready to see a rock all-star band?

Rock on.
