A day after announcing the latest name for his upcoming album, Kanye West tweet out the cover for The Life of Pablo, and it’s… uh… well it’s interesting.

Kanye seems to be embracing his inner art major here, going with a design that kind of looks like it was created in a Microsoft Word doc but is probably really artistically powerful or something.

Kanye has always done goofy things with his album covers, from the anthropomorphic bear that recurs on his first three albums to the sexually explicit image on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy to the ultimate minimalistic approach on Yeezus, but this one is something new.

A quick Twitter search suggests most people are pretty baffled by the Life of Pablo art, with mocking tweets mixed in with some defenses from the “never say a bad word about Yeezus our savior” crowd.

The Life of Pablo is expected to be released some time Thursday.

Reasons to think it will be bad:

– It’s name was changed four times
– It is mysteriously named after someone named Pablo (Picasso? Escobar? Sanchez?)
– The cover is confusing
– Kanye seems to have lost his mind a little bit

Reasons to think it will be good:

– Kanye is always good
