The late, great, amazing, Randy Macho Man Savage was born in Columbus, Ohio and now there’s a petition circulating to have the city build a statue in his honor.

Joe Chapman launched the petition earlier this week asking the mayor of Columbus Andrew Ginther to honor, “an incredible athlete, performer and cultural icon” with a statue downtown.

“‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage is known the world over as one of the best professional wrestlers of all time,” Chapman wrote. “During Savage’s 32 year career, he held over 20 championships…and is a WWE Hall of Famer. Randy Savage also wrestled in what most consider the best match of all time, in front of 93,000 fans at ‘WrestleMania III.'”

Columbus has a statue for Christopher Columbus, because of course they do and Arnold Schwarzenegger, because of course they do, so honoring one of the greatest wrestlers of all time should not be a challenge. Other than the WWE Hall of Fame, Black Ops 3 and a statement from Slim Jim, Savage has been woefully under honored by the general public.  This could easily fix that, though.

Currently, the petition has 3,280 signatures, and needs 5,000 to be presented. With the reach of this website, 1,780 signatures should be down in an instant. The petition can be found , , everyone better go sign it.

Oh Yeah.
