The much-rumored boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor is happening. Earlier on Wednesday, Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports reported that the fight would be taking place on August 26th in Las Vegas, Nevada, which was later confirmed by both McGregor and Mayweather on social media.

The venue has not been officially announced yet, though Iole stated it will likely be either at the MGM Grand Garden Arena or the T-Mobile Arena. Mayweather will be earning at least $100 million for the fight, which could propel him to 50-0 with a victory, and he’s been tabbed a -1000 favorite over McGregor. The UFC featherweight and lightweight champion is listed as a +650 underdog, and has never had a professional or amateur boxing match.

The fight will also take place (obviously) on pay-per-view, presented by Showtime. A price for the event hasn’t been announced, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it approached the $99 that Mayweather-Pacquiao cost. That fight was roundly panned as a disappointment, but nearly doubled the record for pay-per-view buys.
