Chipotle has had its history of serious problems like multiple E.coli and norovirus outbreaks. Now that it seems like that has been taken care of, Chipotle is expanding their menu and have finally included dessert.

Yes, the popular Mexican fast food restaurant will introduce a dessert menu in May and will start with something called buñuelos. Looking like something you would see at a fair, a buñelo is a deep fried tortilla, with sugar, cinnamon, honey and a caramel dipping sauce. If Homer Simpson was reading that, he’d be drooling all over his phone right now.

Chipotle has seen a bounce since their sanitary problems caused a PR nightmare a couple years ago. Sales have been up almost 18% so far in 2017 and the restaurant has seemingly solved its multiple food sanitation problems that almost ruined them.

I haven’t had Chipotle in a few years. Not so much because of their sanitary issues but because there isn’t one that close to where I live. I also don’t usually eat dessert in fast food restaurants so I probably won’t eat a buñuelo. But it does look good and I wouldn’t be shocked if it does become a hit. And if it does, expect more dessert items hitting Chipotle’s menu in the future.
